Stolen childhood: how do you remember your home in Ukraine?

Part 3: The consequences

I would like to start this part with Ukrainian proverb діти – цвіт нації,” which means, “Children are the blossom of the nation." Our future, the blossom of the nation, is suffering, getting wounded, and dying every day. Having no choice, millions of Ukrainians must fight for their future and existence.

The Russian invasion of Ukraine led to horrifying consequences, resulting in the largest and most challenging humanitarian crisis in Europe since the Second World War: millions of internally and externally displaced people; thousands of killed, tortured, and injured civilians; thousands of alleged war crimes.

In this section, I would like to emphasize the human consequences of the war, providing viewers with statistics. These are the precious and priceless lives of Ukrainian children who fell victim to Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine. These are not just numbers! Each of them had a name, a loving family, a peaceful childhood, dreams, and hopes. All of this changed on February 24, 2022.
