Polish Language

Polish is a West Slavic language spoken in Poland and other parts of Eastern Europe. There are about 45 million native speakers of Polish and many more who speak it as a second or third language. It is the 24th most widely spoken languages in the world.

Polish Flag and National Anthem

The Polish national anthem is called "Poland is Not Yet Lost" (Mazurek Dąbrowskiego). The lyrics were written in 1797 by by Józef Wybicki following the third partition of Poland. The music is a mazurka considered a folk tune with no known composer.
The Polish flag has two horizontal stripes. The top stripe is white and represents hope for peace by all people in Poland. The bottom stripe is red and represents Poland's many struggles for independence over the years.

Polish Money / Złoty

Poland uses a currency called the złoty. There are złoty, like there are dollars, and grosz, like there are cents. There are 100 grosz in one złoty. The number of złoty that equal one US dollar changes. You can google the current exchange rate.

Warsaw in the capital of Poland. It was founded around 1300. Kraków is the second largest city in Poland. It was founded in 1257.
