Jarosewycz Family Scholarship


Interested in Ukrainian? The Jarosewycz Family Fund will help you get started by paying for your first year! KU students are eligible to receive up to $4,000 towards Ukrainian language classes. Any KU student is eligible and all are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to current REES majors and minors, as well as REES M.A. and REES graduate certificate students. No previous knowledge of a foreign language is required. Incoming Freshmen will be given special priority. To receive the award, students must:

  • Enroll in Elementary or Intermediate Ukrainian for a full academic year:
    UKRA 104 & UKRA 108: Beginner Ukrainian I & II
    UKRA 204 & UKRA 208: Intermediate Ukrainian I & II
  • Commit to enrolling in further Ukrainian classes (UKRA 204/208 or more advanced level classes) the year following the award period.

Applications accepted on a rolling basis. 

Established by CREES donor Peter Jarosewycz, the Jarosewycz Family Scholarship is awarded to REES affiliated students with strong interests in Ukrainian studies.
